Why does your computer hate you (and your eyes)?

It is reported 65% of people have symptoms of computer vision syndrome, but with a little bit of mindfullness, you can avoid it.

Want a few easy tips to keep your eyes feeling good while at work?

“Your eyes will pay the price if you don't exercise mindfullness while at your computer or using your mobile phone.” - Dr. Roya

1. Ensure Good Posture

Optimize your sitting posture and glasses fit to ensure a neutral spine and slight downward gaze while looking at the screen

2. Remember the 20-20-20 rule

Every 20 minutes take a 20 second break to look 20 feet away. Who said gazing into the distance wasn't pointless.

3. Perform blinking exercises

Did you know you only blink 1/3 of the normal frequency while working on the computer..

4. Supplement your tears with good tears

Lubricating drops can help provide a "lotioned" feel to the eyes. Avoid get the red out drops. A good quality omega 3 supplement (like Nordic Naturals ProOmega 2000) can improve tear quality.

5. Optimize your environment

Check out your surrounding: avoid bright overhead lighting or vents above your screen, increase humidity, and ensure regular maintenance on HVAC systems.
